You can walk in and buy frozen Just Meals over the counter at one of Food Works cafes. These are located at Sharrow and Upperthorpe. Alternatively, you can buy them at their warehouse and market in Handsworth.
Each of their sites has a freezer that contains the ready meals. Simply select the meals you’d like and take them to to till. You then Pay What You Can Afford for each meal. The minimum is £1, but if you are able to give more they do rely on your contributions to continue all the work they do.
They accept both cash and card

Every year Food Works recovers hundreds of tonnes of unused food from businesses and producers. They make sure this food is put to good use, preserving the time and energy that has gone into producing it. This reduces the environmental impact of our food.
If you want to know more about redistributing your surplus food through Food Works, please contact info@thefoodworks.org
Do you want everyone in your community to have easy access to good food?
Food Works is partnering with organisations across the Sheffield region to create access points where the public can pick up Food Works Meals.
All you need is a freezer and a space where you can safely provide access to meal collections at least once a week, a bank card to transfer takings, and an email address for your account. We will take care of the rest!
To become a member at one of our Community Groceries, all you need to do is visit your nearest store (see our ‘Locations’ page to find yours) and let one of our team know it’s your first time. We will then get you a form to fill in and explain all about how the groceries work.
All you need to do is bring £1 for your annual membership fee*, and a couple of shopping bags to put your groceries in and then start shopping. It’s as simple as that!
There are different sized shops available from £5, with each item in store being worth a certain number of points.
Small shop: £5 (12 point shop)
Medium shop: £7.50 (18 point shop)
Large shop: £10 (24 point shop)
Extra-large shop: £12.50 (30 point shop)
Being a Community Grocery member means you can shop in store multiple times each week, helping you save on your shopping budget. We have stores across the country and your membership can be used in them all.
